TV: Citizen Khan - BBC One

Citizen Khan is the new BBC One sitcom that is getting all the attention right now.

Created by and starring Adil Ray, Citizen Khan is an old fashioned sitcom that is not afraid to make fun of itself, and play off some stereotypes, much in the same way Father Ted did, Only Fools and Horses did and so on.

Although the show has kicked up a bit of controversy after the glamorous daughter in the show played by the very gorgeous Bhavna Limbachia was seen quickly putting on a Hijab and reading the Koran when her father was heard to be coming to the room. Some Muslims saw this as disrespectful.

Obviously some people don't realise that this is a sitcom and have their minds stuck in the 3rd world country that their parents probably escaped from to come to the UK.

Citizen Khan is a fun and realistic (according to my Muslim friends), and if given the chance could be a huge hit for the BBC. If there is one thing the Muslim community needs right now, is to see they have a sense of humour and don't take themselves too seriously, unfortunately it seems a few stuck up religious fanatics want to spoil it for the rest of us. My advice to them would be "if you don't like it, don't watch it" Simple.

I for one will be watching, here is a clip from Episode 2 coming soon on BBC
