Trailer: That Good Night starring John Hurt - In cinemas 11 May 2018


That Good Night stars iconic multi-award winner, John Hurt (The Elephant Man, Midnight Express) in his last leading role as Ralph, a once-famous screenwriter in his seventies who has two missions in life. Ralph wishes to be reconciled with his son, Michael (Max Brown, Spooks), and, to ensure that he is not a burden to his devoted wife, Anna (Sofia Helin, The Bridge), as he goes “into that good night”. Ralph hires the services of the mysterious “Visitor” (Charles Dance, Game of Thrones) who unexpectedly guides him to find new meaning in his life.

Set in the stunning hilltops of the Algarve coastline of Portugal, this life affirming drama exploring family relationships is based on the stage play by NJ Crisp and inspired by the poem of Dylan Thomas.

Following its world premiere at Edinburgh International Film Festival and screenings at Dinard British Film Festival and Shanghai International Film Festival, That Good Night will be released in cinemas in the UK on 11th May 2018.

That Good Night is directed by Eric Styles, whose debut feature was powerful drama Dreaming of Joseph Lees starring Samantha Morton and Rupert Graves, distributed by 20th Century Fox to critical acclaim. His second feature, Relative Values was an ensemble comedy starring Julie Andrews, Colin Firth, Stephen Fry and Jeanne Tripplehorn. That Good Night is adapted from the NJ Crisp play by Charles Savage, who also produced alongside Alan Latham for GSP Studios.
