Synopsis

“El Patrón” Alberto and “El Mesías” Ricky Banderas at WWL’s “Guerra de Reyes”
(San Juan, Puerto Rico, Sunday, December 14th, 2014) – It is oficial, “El Patrón” Alberto will be in the “Enchanted Island” for WWL, January 6th, 2015, as part of “Guerra de Reyes” which will be taking place at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The news was confirmed by the Director of Operations Savio Vega during the event “Navidad Corporativa” at the “Pepín Cestero Arena” in Bayamón. This was also validated via a video that Alberto himself sent in to be presented to the fans at the event on the big screens.
The Mexican comes looking for major gold within World Wrestling League, and he will be facing the World champion Shane “The Glamour Boy”. Shane received the challenge from “El Patrón” after he retained his title by defeating “The Precious One” Gilbert.
On the other hand, “El Mesías” Ricky Banderas will also be involved in this match, making it a Triple Threat for WWL’s premier title. This was announced by WWL president Richard Negrín, in what seems to be turning into a power struggle between him and the Director of Operations Savio Vega.

The following are the results from “Navidad Corporativa”:
Niche defeated Barbie Boy, Joseph RPM and Dimes. This was the pre-show dark match, and after it was over Niche was attacked Prince Xander.
Laredo Kid retained his WWL Americas title after he defeated “El Fenomeno” BJ. For this match, Joe Bravo was the special referee, but he was ejected by other referees due not being impartial. After the end of the match, a man dressed like a member of “La Rabia” came in and attacked BJ. The mystery man revealed himself to be Bravo.
Erik Scorpion defeated Prince Xander. Scorpion once again showed his high caliber.
“La Rabia” - Noel Rodríguez, Stefano & D-Niss Rivera defeated “Team Coporativo” - Víctor and Manuel Rodríguez & “El Gigante” Caifás, becoming the first ever WWL World ‘Tríos’ champions.
“Legió” (Spectro & Kronya) defeated Sr. C & Syler Andrews.
WWL’s Director of Operations, Savio Vega, came out and stated that Bobby Roode could not make it to the event as there were some issues with his flight out of Canada. However, he had a surprise for Shane, as the man he would be facing was someone “que no es fácil!” (who is not easy to deal with). The music played and none other than “The Precious One” Gilbert came out.
Shane “The Glamour defeated Gilbert in a match for the WWL World title, which Shane retained. After the match, both the Director of Operations and WWL’s president came out and announced that Shane will put his title on the line once more at “Guerra de Reyes” on January 6th, when he will face “El Patrón” Alberto and Ricky Banderas.
Apolo defeated Mr. Big in a personal grudge match. Mistress Glenda Lee attacked “La Diosa” Habanna, who had to be stretchered out of the ring.
Thunder & Lightning and TNA’s Abyss & James Storm were counted out. As a result, Thunder and Lightning retained the WWL Tag Team titles. After the match “Legió” (Spectro & Kronya) attacked the champions.
“El Sensacional” Carlitos defeated Mr. 450 in an incredible encounter that these two rivals presented. Some say it was even better than their first match. After the match Carlitos offers his hand to Mr. 450, they embrace in the middle of the ring, only for Mr. 450 to turn and attack Carlitos once again. Out comes Invader #3 into the ring to pull 450 away and question his actions. 450 then started to attack his mentor. When Carlitos saw what was happening, he launched himself on top of Invader #3 to take the hits and kicks from Mr. 450, this way protecting Invader #3 from further harm, ending the event with a lot of questions to be answered at “Guerra de Reyes”.

AMC CASTS INTERNATIONAL FILM STAR DANIEL WU AS LEAD OF “BADLANDS” (WT)
“Badlands” is a genre-bending martial arts series very loosely based on the classic Chinese tale “Journey to the West.” In a land controlled by feudal barons, “Badlands” tells the story of a ruthless, well-trained warrior named Sunny (Wu) and a young boy who embark on a journey across a dangerous land to find enlightenment.
“After working together with such a talented team of executive producers, writers and executives at AMC, I am excited for the opportunity to bring this character to life," said Wu.
Wu joins previously announced series regulars Emily Beecham (“28 Weeks Later,” “The Village”), Sarah Bolger (“The Tudors,” “In America”) and Oliver Stark (“The Adventurer: The Curse of the Midas Box,” “My Hero”). David Dobkin (“The Judge,” “Wedding Crashers,” “Shanghai Knights”) will be the series director.
Wu is a Hong Kong-based Chinese-American actor, director and producer. Born in Berkeley, California, Wu was raised in Orinda in a family whose parents were Shanghai natives who were both educated in the States. After graduating from the University of Oregon, he moved to Hong Kong in 1997. A film buff (and scholar in the Chinese martial arts discipline of wushu), Wu admired both Jackie Chan and Jet Li as a youngster. He landed his first professional roles in 1998 in a trio of Chinese-language features, most notably in “City of Glass” (Boli zhi cheng). Since then, Wu has been featured in over 60 films. He won the prestigious Hong Kong prize as Best Director for his 2006 feature, “The Heavenly Kings” (Sei dai tinwong), his directorial debut that also brought him the Chinese Film Media Award as Best Director. In addition to his work in front of the camera, Wu has produced five projects, including “Night Corridor,” “Like A Dream,” “The Heavenly Kings,” “Tai Chi Zero” and “Control.”
AMC has ordered six, one-hour episodes for “Badlands,” with an expected premiere in late 2015 or early 2016. The project was created by writers/showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar (“Shanghai Noon,” “Smallville”). They'll serve as executive producers along with Dobkin, Oscar-nominated producers Stacey Sher and Michael Shamberg (“Pulp Fiction,” “Contagion”), and Stephen Fung and Wu (“Tai Chi Zero”).
From AMC Studios, “Badlands” will be distributed internationally by Entertainment One Television (eOne).

Film News: Horror Channel to premiere Stephen Moyer’s DEVIL IN THE WOODS
Horror Channel’s highlights for January include the UK TV premiere of DEVIL IN THE WOODS, a brutish supernatural chiller starring Stephen Moyer (‘True Blood’) and directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II, III, IV, REPO! The Genetic Opera).
There is also a first-time TV showing for JULIA X, a disturbing serial-killer thriller starring Kevin (‘Hercules’) Sorbo and directed by P.J. Pettiette.
Plus there are three Network TV premieres to usher in the new year on a bloody note: WRONG TURN 3: LEFT FOR DEAD and WRONG TURN 4: BLOODY BEGINNINGS both directed by Declan O’Brien, continues the globally successful cannibalistic franchise which started in 2003 and is still going strong, with ’Wrong Turn 6’ screening at FrightFest 2014. Then there’s THE RATS. John Lafia’s gruesome vision of a rodent-invested New York City.
