The development of Shanghai’s film industry is exciting and film enthusiasts from around the world will certainly want to pay attention.”

Deputy Mayor of Liverpool, Councillor Gary Millar, who was instrumental in bringing this event to Liverpool, said: “Liverpool is honoured to host the first Shanghai Film Week, celebrating the rich history, talent and culture steeped in Chinese film and cinema. 4DX Announces Yash Raj Films’ “WAR” as the Next Indian Film to be Released in Multi-Sensory 4DX Cinema Experience

London (September XX, 2019) - CJ 4DPLEX, the world's leading cinema technology company, with Yash Raj Films, the leading film production company of India, today announced “WAR” will be coming to theatres in the innovative multi-sensory cinema experience, 4DX. The film will release on October 2nd on Gandhi Jayanti, a national holiday in India.

Yash Raj Films "War" boasts of A-list Indian talent headlined by actors Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff and Vaani Kapoor along with director Siddharth Anand and producer Aditya Chopra. The film includes an array of gripping action sequences such as car-chases, helicopter-chases, explosions, fist fights and motorcycle chase scenes, making 4DX the perfect place for audiences to experience the film. A powerful combination of motion and environmental effects will have movie fans experiencing the spectacular and thrilling action sequences, the adrenaline rush of helicopters and cars in flight. 4DX motion and vibration will capture the turbulence of helicopters perilously swaying across the sky in the climactic helicopter chase sequence that everyone’s buzzing about.

4DX is a cinematic experience that is growing in popularity for moviegoers seeking to be totally immersed in the film they are watching. This is proven by 4DX’s performance, with an all-time record-breaking month in July at the global box office. 4DX's advanced theatre technology enhances the on-screen visuals of action-packed blockbusters, transcending the traditional cinema experience through special effects including motion-synchronized seats, wind, fog, rain, lightning, snow, vibration and scents. The result is one of the most innovative cinema formats in the industry, drawing fans into the action on the screen, providing a more exciting movie-watching experience.

"We were very clear from the start that we want to give Indian audiences action that they have never seen before. Our film has a huge car sequence that sees Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff perform an adrenaline-pumping action stunt that has been entirely shot on ice. We shot this in Finland, which is in the Arctic Circle and we were informed by our production team that we were the first ever film in the world to shoot an action sequence of this scale in the Arctic. We look forward to reveal this movie in 4DX, and we strongly believe 4DX will be the best way to enjoy our film." said director Siddharth Anand.

4DX provides moviegoers with an innovative, multi-sensory experience, allowing the audience to connect with movies through motion, vibration, water, wind, snow, lightning, scents, and other special effects that enhance the visuals on-screen. Each 4DX auditorium incorporates motion-based seating synchronized with more than 21 different effects and optimized by a team of skilled 4DX producers, maximizing the excitement within the movie, beyond the limits of audio and video. To date, more than 78,000 4DX seats operate in 678 auditoriums, spanning 65 countries.

Channel 4 Marks Black History Month

This October Channel 4 will mark Black History Month with a season of documentaries and films- from seminal game-changers and fascinating histories to bold new visions for the future.

gal-dem, the online platform committed to telling the stories of women and non-binary people of colour, are reaching into the Channel 4 archive to curate a Black British History collection. The six selected titles, which each have something to say about the black British experience, are: Desmond's (1989), Just like Mohicans (1985), Justice for Joy  (1995), The Event: How Racist Are You (2009), Chewing Gum (2015), and Black Lesbian Handbook (2015). To accompany each selection, individuals from the gal-dem community will also author six new short films, in conversation with someone related to the original programme.

gal-dem said: "This is an unfiltered celebration of Black British History. By bringing the archive titles into the present tense we aim to raise important questions about how far we've come in 2019. These questions include, but are not limited to: Who has the Windrush scandal ignored? Who owns queer? Would the black British experience be any different without church? Does British TV really represent black people? Why are white people so committed to the idea of white superiority? Can onscreen stereotypes ever be a force for good?"

The Apprentice returns - It’s back and bigger than ever… Premieres at 9pm on Wednesday 2 October, BBC One and BBC iPlayer

The BBC's award-winning business show The Apprentice is back, celebrating its 15th series, and promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Lord Sugar will put sixteen candidates through their paces in a series of testing challenges as they compete to win a life-changing £250,000 investment for their business, in what remains the toughest interview process around.

The series kicks off with a bang, as Lord Sugar whisks the business hopefuls away to Cape Town, South Africa. For the 15th series, Lord Sugar sets the candidates one of the most challenging tasks ever; to create, set up and run bespoke tours on the outskirts of Cape Town. This takes the candidates out of their comfort zone from the get go, as the teams head off on Safari and Vineyard excursions.

Following their trip to South Africa, Lord Sugar pulls out all the stops to test the candidates in the world of business. They must run a corporate away day on a Steam Train, design a theme park ride using the latest technology, travel to Finland to create an advertising campaign, and hit the streets of Oxford and Cambridge to find and buy nine items. The hopeful entrepreneurs will also create a new Electric Bicycle to pitch to the market, and head into the world of music management by marketing an unsigned artist.

This year the opportunity to become Lord Sugar's next Business partner is tougher than ever and has attracted candidates from a range of careers and backgrounds; from an athlete to an artisan bakery owner, from a chartered engineer to a sports management agent, and from a finance manager to a pillow salesman, each must draw from their own experience and natural talent to succeed.

Baroness Brady and Claude Littner return as Lord Sugar's trusted advisors, who are once again on hand to scrutinise the candidate's every move.  After each task, the candidates must face Lord Sugar in the boardroom, where they will have to fight it out to avoid hearing the dreaded: "You're fired."

Over the past eight years, Lord Sugar has invested a staggering £2.25 million into nine fledgling businesses - and the bar is set high for this year's candidates to impress as they fight for Lord Sugar's investment.

Comedian, writer and actor Tom Allen is the brand new host of The Apprentice: You're Fired, which will air each week on BBC Two, straight after the main show. Casting a wry eye over each week's events, Tom will be joined by a raft of celebrity fans and business professionals to dissect and debate the candidates progress through each task.

Two special episodes, The Final Five and Why I Fired Them, will also return to reveal the stories behind the series before the finale.  The Final Five reflects on the journey of the candidates who make it through to the interviews, before they battle it out to secure their place in the final.  Before the series finale, Lord Sugar will also reveal a further insight into his boardroom decisions in Why I Fired Them.

Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out breaks record for BBC Three

Following its launch on BBC Three at 10am on Thursday 12 September, according to seven day data, Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out has become BBC Three's top factual title since the channel moved online.

The BBC Three commission, which focused on the struggles Little Mix's Jesy Nelson has been through due to online bullying, was the top programme on BBC iPlayer in the week of release with 1.87 million requests within seven days, with 64% of them from 16-34s.

The documentary also played on BBC One at 9pm on the same day and has consolidated with 3.3 million viewers, a 55% uplift from overnight viewing with 964k 16-34s, meaning it is the highest 16-34 viewed programme on BBC One this year in peak time.

Fiona Campbell, Controller, BBC Three, says: "This was such an important, brave film, which fully deserves to be the top factual title on BBC Three. Bringing this to so many people was a huge team effort which ensured the film had high visibility and was talked about in key channels for youth audiences in the lead up to broadcast. It proves that BBC Three continues to move in the right direction and we're incredibly happy that so many people have watched and connected with the film and we hope that making it helped Jesy, and helps others that have suffered bullying."

Alison Kirkham, Controller, BBC Factual Commissioning, says: "I am so pleased that Jesy Nelson's film has resonated so powerfully with audiences. This film, and others in the Mental Health season earlier this year, are part of our ongoing commitment to tackling mental health issues and we know that they make a real difference to those going through similar experiences, with many more people opening up and contacting mental health charities. My huge thanks to Jesy for having the courage to share her story and to all the production team for making such an important film."

Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out was commissioned by Fiona Campbell, Controller BBC Three, David Brindley, Head of Popular Factual and Factual Entertainment and Commissioning Editor, Max Gogarty. It was an October Films production, the Executive Producers were Richard Cook, Claire Hughes and Matt Robins, Director Adam Goodall, and the Producer was Candace Davies.

Interview with Dylan Benson ahead of his upcoming debut on hit soap Home & Away.

The son of actors Greg Benson and Amanda Newman, Sydney’s Dylan Benson is prepping for a profile boost from his upcoming debut on hit soapie Home & Away.

Home and Away is well-known for being a launchpad for some of today’s biggest names. What do you think the show offers young people, in addition to a paying gig, that helps cement their careers?

It’s an incredible training ground for actors. The show is fast paced and they usually only do two or three takes before moving on to the next scene. This means you learn how to nail scenes first go and do loads of different scenes. Do this over months or years and you really sharpen your skills

And it was the same for your father – who was a star on the show?

Yep! He was on it for six years. So was my mother. That’s actually how they met!

Did he ever try his luck in Hollywood?

He auditioned for a few roles in Hollywood but he never moved over there to try his luck. Some of his friends did, some hit success in Hollywood and others came back to do something different.

How has it changed since he was on the series, you think? Has it got easier or harder to nab roles as an actor?

I’m not sure what it was like back then but it’s insanely competitive now. There’s hundreds of actors competing for roles and the issue is roles don’t pop up often. In the four years I’ve been training, I’ve only had 4 auditions for Home and Away. The fourth one I got some luck and booked the job. There’s a lot of idle time and you’ve got to learn how to use it properly. This is usually what determines the success of actors

I suppose one would also look at the likes of Paul Hogan and Chris day they were overnight successes – when they likely weren’t at all?

There’s absolutely no such thing as an overnight success. I’m obsessed with stories about how actors made it and not one of them become a star overnight. They’d all been training and working at it for many many years. It’s just that you don’t hear about them till they’re on the big screen and you think they rocketed to success overnight.

What kind of doors would you like to see open as a result of your role on Home & Away?

It’s definitely a nice resume booster as so many Aussie stars started on Home and Away. Hopefully that will mean I can get into the audition room more and also when I relocate to America. It’s competitive out there so any credit helps a lot and the more times you get into the audition room, the better.

And you’ve relocated to L.A to make that happen?

I’m still in Sydney but I do have plans to relocate to LA or New York. I really want to study at UCB to do some improv and also meet some acting coaches in the states. I might even give stand up another go – I did it here in Sydney. I am planning to be there this pilot season and excited to see how I go. I’m also a model so I’ll be working over there as a model too. Should keep me very busy. I’ve wanted to live in America for a long time now to chase my dreams so I can’t wait

Cast announced for BBC One's Worzel Gummidge

Casting has been announced for the dazzling, modern adaptation of Worzel Gummidge, which will be enchanting BBC One viewers later this year.

Set to broadcast in two one-hour films, this family treat is inspired by the classic books of Barbara Euphan Todd and is pegged to be the TV event of the season. Mackenzie Crook has taken Scatterbrook farm and the infamous characters of this well-loved tale and injected them with a tender and authentic charm. This is the perfect family adventure, packed with a fun, mischievous spirit and delivered with an environmental message.

Mackenzie Crook, (Pirates Of The Caribbean, Detectorists) who has written, directed and stars as Worzel Gummidge, has gathered a host of both accomplished and brilliant actors who are set to appear in this eagerly anticipated adaptation.

Playing The Green Man, creator of the scarecrows, who arrives to Scatterbrook in episode two, is comedy legend Sir Michael Palin. He says: "It's a lovely part for me, but the whole script is very memorable and touching, and very funny too. It quite skillfully weaves in something for everybody all the time."

Zoë Wanamaker (My Family, Harry Potter And The Philosophers Stone) will play the eccentric local aristocrat, Lady Bloomsbury Barton in episode two. She says: "The whole thing is so charming and inventive. It's the sort of thing I'd watch. I'm sure it will be a huge success. I know it will - it's divine."

Vicki Pepperdine (Getting On, The Windsors) takes on the role of the formidable Aunt Sally in episode one. She says: "There's something for everybody. It's got this heart to it, and you'd be hard pushed as an adult not to engage with it."

Steve Pemberton (League Of Gentleman, Benidorm) will play Mr Braithwaite, the farmer. He says: "This is the kind of show the whole family can enjoy together. It has a lot of humour, a lot of visual humour too, and I think kids will enjoy watching the children being central to the story."

Rosie Cavaliero (Gentleman Jack, Cleaning Up) will play Mrs Braithwaite, she added: "It's a story about the imagination, and children escaping into this different world. Mackenzie's version is totally contemporary."

Ones to watch India Brown (Hetty Feather) and Thierry Wickens (making his TV debut) will play Susan and John, two city children spending their summer at Scatterbrook farm who quickly befriend Worzel and begin a summer of adventures.

The first episode, The Scarecrow Of Scatterbrook, sees two young strangers arrive in the village of Scatterbrook. It's not long before Susan and John encounter Worzel Gummidge, the Scarecrow of Ten Acre Field. Their world is sent spinning into confusion when they realise Gummidge comes to life. The only person more shocked is Worzel, when he discovers that the children are not in fact fellow scarecrows but humans.

Their worlds should never commune but fate has conspired to create an extraordinary union. The seasons have stopped and the harvest hasn't arrived. The rhythm of the natural world is out of kilter and this unlikely trio must try to put it right. Magic, mystery and mayhem unfurl.

The second episode, The Green Man, welcomes another mysterious arrival to Scatterbrook. The Green Man is the creator of scarecrows and keeper of scarecrow lore. He isn't at all happy that Worzel is consorting with humans. Elsewhere, local aristocrat Lady Bloomsbury Barton is holding a fete, with a Scarecrow competition that Worzel is determined to win. What will The Green Man and Worzel's most competitive rival, Soggy Bogart make of it all?

Worzel Gummidge is written and directed by Mackenzie Crook and is a Leopard Pictures, Treasure Trove Productions and Lola Entertainment production for BBC One. It is Executive Produced by Kristian Smith for Leopard Pictures, Lisa Thomas for Lola Entertainment, Mackenzie Crook for Treasure Trove Productions, with rights holders Patrick D. Pidgeon and Eric S.
