RuneScape ‘fossil-itates’ the introduction of dinosaurs with the launch of The Land Out of Time
Tuesday 9th July 2019, Cambridge, UK – Bringing an array of deadly dinosaurs to RuneScape for the very first time, the game’s major summer content update – The Land Out of Time – is now available, enabling adventurers to delve into Gielinor’s distant, prehistoric past. The launch trailer is below
Available to all RuneScape members, The Land Out of Time sees the introduction of Anachronia, a long-forgotten primordial landmass with its ferocious inhabitants, including Gielinor’s own breeds of Triceratops, Pterodactyls, and mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex.
In addition to a brand-new island to explore, The Land Out of Time also delivers new activities to master, new creatures to hunt and slay, a base for players to build with gathered resources, as well as the longest agility course ever constructed in RuneScape, challenging players to traverse the entire perimeter of Anachronia.
The Land Out of Time introduces:
Big Game Hunter: High-intensity activity featuring the tracking and trapping of giant dinosaurs
New Slayer monsters to overcome: Defeat new creatures and the deadly fauna that populate Anachronia
The longest agility course in RuneScape history! Traverse around the entire landmass and boost your Agility skill, and fast travel in style
Set up camp: Level up your base camp, established in the ruins of a forgotten civilisation on the island, through skilling and resource gathering
The Land Out of Time is the latest in several RuneScape updates set to launch over the next year that will uncover Gielinor’s ancient past, including new quests and activities. A prologue quest, Desperate Times, was released in May, while players helped the in-game shipbuilders gather resources to finish a ship seaworthy enough to reach the new landmass, utilising eight different skills including Farming, Magic, Smithing, and Crafting, in the recent limited time event, Breaking the Storm.
Dave Osborne, Lead Designer, RuneScape, said:
“We’re really excited that after 11 years the shipbuilders of Varrock have finally finished their ship and we can set sail to The Land Out of Time. Today’s launch brings significant new ways to play in RuneScape, not least the deadly cat-and-mouse game with our dinosaurs in Big Game Hunter, and the longest agility course in Gielinor ever, which goes around the entire landmass of Anachronia. We can’t wait to begin revealing more of the mystery surrounding the island over the months ahead!”
The island of Anachronia is accessible for players of all experience levels, with some activities needing different tiers of skill requirements in order to take part. Big Gaming Hunter requires at least level 75 in Hunting, while the new Slayer master – Lanniakea – requires players to have at least level 90 in the Slayer skill before she doles out new cluster tasks to complete.

Competition: Win Chernobyl - (2019 Sky Atlantic Drama)
Chernobyl is out on DVD & Blu-ray on July 15th.
And to celebrate we have a great competition for you and 2 copies on DVD to give away.
Synopsis
‘ENTHRALLING, QUIETLY spectacular, meticulously researched’ (The Observer) Sky Original drama Chernobyl explores the truth surrounding the disastrous nuclear power plant explosion in 1986 – a story of incredible heroism and sacrifice, but also shocking lies and conspiracy.
The result of extensive research, Chernobyl seeks to tell the stories of those directly involved in causing the catastrophe, and those affected by the nuclear fallout felt across the world. Jared Harris (Mad Men, The Crown) stars as Valery Legasov, a nuclear physicist who is one of the first people to grasp the scope of the nuclear disaster. Ulana Khomyuk (Emily Watson – Apple Tree Yard, The Theory of Everything) is a scientist committed to getting to the bottom of the cause, while Lyudmilla Ignatenko (Jessie Buckley – Wild Rose, Beast) is the wife of a firefighter who was first on the scene. Stellan Skarsgård (Mamma Mia, Thor) plays Soviet Deputy Prime Minister Boris Shchergina, leading the government commission from a safe distance.
Directed by The Walking Dead’s Jonas Renck, the series is committed to a realism that refuses to shy away from the horrors, both physical and psychological, inflicted upon the victims of this uniquely horrifying event. A deeply moving story about how individuals act when faced with something inexplicable, this drama seeks to honour the spirit of those who helped stop the devastation from spreading even further.
Investigating the lengths to which governments will go to cover up atrocities and suppress the spread of information, Chernobyl also acts as a timely warning: the truth will out.

COMPETITION: Win Romance on Blu-ray
Romance is out on Blu-ray on July 15th.
And to celebrate we have a great competition for you and 3 copies to give away.
Synopsis
Controversial. Groundbreaking. Daring. Extraordinary. Explicit. Shocking. Romance, directed by Catherine Breillat, is all this and more. And now one of the most provocative films of modern cinema is coming to UK Blu-ray for the first time in a newly restored version, courtesy of Second Sight.
A teacher, Marie (Caroline Ducey) is happy living with her boyfriend, but their relationship lacks intimacy and, desperate for physical affection, she sets off to find it elsewhere, in a series of ever-more extreme encounters with strangers...
The film, originally released in 1999, drew as many shocked gasps from critics as it did plaudits when it first opened. It also troubled censors in the UK and around the world as it blurred the lines between art and pornography with its searingly honest depiction of a woman embarking on an odyssey of increasingly explicit sexual experiences.
Described by Empire as a ‘daring study of sex and sensibility’ it arrives on Blu-ray with a brand-new scan, complete with a host of special features on 15 July 2019.

Arrow Video FrightFest 2019 announces 20th year record-breaking line-up
The UK’s biggest and boldest horror and fantasy film festival is celebrating its 20th bloody year. Since 2000 it has made its indelible mark, not only on the ever-burgeoning horror community but also on the UK genre landscape as a whole. The internationally renowned event leads the way in attesting to the versatility of the genre, its reinvention and its growing importance in the cultural landscape and this year is no exception.
Arrow Video FrightFest 2019 is back at the Cineworld Leicester Square and The Prince Charles Cinema from Aug 22 - Aug 26. Hosting a record-breaking seventy-eight films, embracing fourteen countries and spanning six continents, this year’s five-day fear-a-thon includes 20 World, 20 International / European and 28 UK Premieres.
As previously announced, this year’s festivities begin with the UK premiere of Ant Timpson’s deviously edgy stunner COME TO DADDY, starring Elijah Wood and reaches its bloody conclusion with the World premiere of Abner Pastoll’s superbly crafted crime story, A GOOD WOMAN IS HARD TO FIND. Other main screen international attractions include producer Guillermo del Toro and director André Øvredal’s SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK, producer Sam Raimi and director Alexandre Aja’s gruesome ‘gator yarn CRAWL, the Radio Silence gang’s lethal thriller READY OR NOT, director Kiah Roache-Turner’s futuristic Ozploitation classic NEKROTRONIC, Pedro C. Alonso’s startling captive chiller FEEDBACK, with a career-defining performance from Eddie Marsan, Kirill Sokolov’s splatterpunk action comedy WHY DON’T YOU JUST DIE! and Jason Mewes’ insanely brilliant MADNESS IN THE METHOD, starring Mewes, Vinnie Jones, Kevin Smith, Teri Hatcher, Dean Cain and with a final on-screen appearance from Stan Lee.
Making their second, very welcome appearance at the festival will be The Soska Sisters, attending for the World Premiere of RABID, their eagerly anticipated re-imagining of the Cronenberg classic. The sisters will also introduce a special retrospective screening of the original. Also attending is the legendary Dario Argento, here for a special screening of his giallo masterpiece TENEBRAE. He’ll also be in conversation with Festival co-director Alan Jones and signing copies of his autobiography, ‘Fear’, which Jones has adapted and edited. More attending guests will be announced later this month.
FrightFest’s 20th year sees the return of directorial alumni like Adam Egypt Mortimer with his provocative psychological horror DANIEL ISN’T REAL, Christian Alvart with his twisted blockbuster CUT-OFF, Lucky McKee with the startling KINDRED SPIRITS, starring Thora Birch, Joe Begos with his terror trip BLISS, Larry Fessenden with DEPRAVED, a post-modern take on the Frankenstein legend, Padraig Reynolds with belligerent creature feature DARK LIGHT, producer Eli Roth with the grindhouse-inspired HAUNT, The Pierce Brothers’ bring us their chiller THE WRETCHED, Dan Bush is back with seat-edge shocker THE DARK RED, Jordan ‘Zombeavers’ Rubin teases us with tongue-in-chic horror comedy THE DRONE and ‘Level 16’ director Danishka Esterhazy gives us her fun-packed body-counter THE BANANA SPLITS. Then there’s Samuel Gridley’s darkly funny CRIMINAL AUDITION, Magnus Wake’s cleverly plotted and heart-pounding DARK SENSE and making up the fearsome five is Fredi Nwaka’s ARE WE DEAD YET, a cleverly crafted supernatural comedy-crime thriller.

Over the years FrightFest has showcased the best genre films Canada has to offer and this year a special strand has been created – ‘Canadian Chills’ – to highlight an exceptional bumper crop, which, apart from RABID, embraces the International premiere of Colin Minihan and director Kurtis David Harder’s smart chiller SPIRAL and the UK premieres of Tony Dean Smith’s sci-fi mind-bender VOLITION, Ray Xue’s entertainingly nasty EXTRACURRICULAR, starring Luke Goss, Chad Archibald’s deadly thriller I'LL TAKE YOUR DEAD, Cameron Macgowan’s dark comedy chiller RED LETTER DAY and Jordan Barker’s unrelenting assault of pure terror, WITCHES IN THE WOODS. Stein’s FrightFest Glasgow hit FREAKS, the International premiere of Rob Grant’s sick, sea-faring adventure HARPOON and the UK premiere of the sinister and challenging HAPPY FACE, this year’s Duke Mitchell presentation.
Another country with a fine FrightFest pedigree is Argentina and this year is no exception; with the World Premiere of producer Javier Diment’s chilling chamber piece ROCK, PAPER AND SCISSORS, plus the European premiere of Herman Finding’s IMPOSSIBLE CRIMES and the UK premiere of Pablo Pares’ apocalyptic powerhouse I AM TOXIC.
The global cabinet of fear holds more…Tunisia is represented for the first time with the UK premiere of DACHRA, an intense folk horror that has broken box office records in North Africa and Japan offers up a forgotten musical cult gem from 1985 - THE LEGEND OF THE STARDUST BROTHERS. Ireland’s entry is Paddy Murphy’s THE PERISHED. Mixing horror and pertinent social issues, the film marks the debut of a new Irish genre voice.
Further indie discoveries on the monstrous menu are: Australian chase chiller THE FURIES, the elegantly scary THE SONATA, social media shocker DEADCON, DRIVEN, a smart, meter-running battle against evil, Eric Pennycroft’s brooding SADISTIC INTENTIONS, with Larry Fessenden, the horrifying Christmas cracker I TRAPPED THE DEVIL, the quirky, cutting FINGERS and THE DEEPER YOU DIG, a Coen-Brothers-esque story of grief and survival from Toby Poser and John Adams.
Documentary lovers will enjoy Dima Ballin’s THE MAGNIFICENT OBSESSION OF MICHAEL REEVES, charting the life and early death of the man who gave us WITCHFINDER GENERAL and two documentaries from director David Gregory, MASTER OF DARK SHADOWS , an in-depth look at the talents of Dan Curtis, the ‘King of TV horror’ and SICK! SAVAGE! SENSUAL! THE REEL LIFE AND GHASTLY DEATH OF AL ADAMSON, which tells the bizarre and grim demise of one of Hollywood’s exploitation bad boys.
In a first for FrightFest, there will be a special preview of MAN OF MEDAN, the first game in The Dark Pictures anthology. This will be followed by a Q&A session with the key development talent behind the game. The much anticipated interactive narrative horror adventure, developed by Supermassive Games and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, brings supernatural horror on board a ghost-ship adrift in the South Pacific. It is set to be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Aug 30, 2019.
Festival co-director Alan Jones, said today: “Over the last two decades we have tirelessly introduced our committed audiences to every trend, every new talent and every innovation that has put horror back in the collective cinephile conscious. Even after 20 years. FrightFest’s August event remains a key destination to see the latest genre movies in the manner for which they were made - on the Big Screen surrounded by fellow fear-mongers. Remember, it’s our party and we’ll scream if we want to!”
This year’s guest list, special events and the Short Film Showcase entries will all be announced in the coming weeks.

OLDBOY - In Cinemas 2nd August - **UK TRAILER**
Often cited as one of the best films of the 2000s and possibly the definitive example of extreme Asian cinema, Oldboy is a brutal, lyrical modern classic of the revenge genre. Directed with immense flair by Park Chan-wook (The Handmaiden) as the second instalment of his Vengeance Trilogy, Oldboy blazed a trail at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival where it was lauded by the President of the Jury, director Quentin Tarantino.
The film went on to become a huge international smash, blowing audiences minds with its concoction of filmmaking virtuosity, ingenious plotting, violence and pathos. Packed with shocking twists and eye-popping set pieces - including the much-imitated hammer attack sequence, and a sushi meal you might not want to sample - and anchored by an astonishing lead performance by Choi Min-sik, Oldboy really is a stunning and unmissable (and endlessly rewatchable) cinematic masterpiece.
Cast:
Choi Min-sik (I saw the Devil, Lucy)
Kang Hye-jung (Lady Vengeance)
Yu Ji-tae (The House That Jack Built)
Director:
Park Chan-wook (The Handmaiden, Lady Vengeance)
Synopsis
Based on the Japanese manga of the same name, the film tells the horrific tale of Oh Dae-su (Choi Min-sik), a businessman who is inexplicably kidnapped and imprisoned in a grim hotel room-like cell for 15 years, without knowing his captor or the reason for his incarceration.
Eventually released, he learns of his wife’s murder and embarks on a quest for revenge whilst also striking up a romance with a young, attractive sushi chef, Mi-do (Kang Hye-jung). He eventually finds his tormentor, but their final encounter will yield yet more unimaginable horrors...

8 Days: To The Moon And Back - Q&A - Anthony Philipson, Director
Eight days, three hours, 18 minutes, 35 seconds. That’s the total duration of the most important and celebrated space mission ever flown - Apollo 11 - when we first stepped foot on the moon.
8 Days: To The Moon And Back, a feature-length drama documentary marking the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11, will bring the untold story of the mission to life.
With access to hours of declassified cockpit audio recorded by the astronauts themselves, the film uses cutting-edge digital effects and dramatised performances to create a stunning 21st century visual journey, taking us inside the capsule and closer to the three astronauts than ever before.
8 Days: To The Moon And Back (1x90’) is made by The Science Unit, BBC Studios, co-produced with PBS and The Open University, in association with Canal +.
Q&A - Anthony Philipson, Director
You weren’t born when the Apollo 11 landed on the moon. When did you first hear about it?
Growing up, space travel was very much something that captured our imagination. A magical, almost superhuman endeavour encapsulated by the birth of the Space Shuttle programme.
Launches were broadcast live and our school would gather to watch these incredible machines blast off into space. As children this fired our imagination and peaked our interest in the origins of space exploration, from the original Sputnik programme right through to majestic Apollo programme. Although I was only born in 1971 the original moon walk was still very much alive, most notably in the Saturn V rockets I coveted in toy shop windows!
What attracted you to this project?
Quite simply the opportunity to tell the story of one of the most famous moments in human history, from a completely new perspective.
What did you set up to achieve?
I wanted to bring the audience inside the Saturn rocket to experience the entire mission as if they were the fourth crew member.
To understand how it felt on a personal level for all three astronauts to undertake such a momentous mission, to see what they saw and to feel what they felt. Using the flight logs and data we wanted to ensure every moment depicted was true to the real mission. Ultimately I wanted to make sure nothing was heightened or overly dramatised. It’s all as it happened, as never seen before.
What challenges did you encounter?
The challenges were two-fold. Firstly getting our cast to manage the huge demand of lip-synching the original recordings, and the second was pulling off our ‘Hollywood’ ambitions on a fraction of their budget.
My incredible cast managed to pull off the first challenge beyond even my ambition. They were simply incredible at bringing the three iconic astronauts to life. The second was achieved through a combination of the incredible talents of the Matthew Button’s designer team, the Director of Photography Tim Cragg, and the VFX team at BDH. Without them we would never have been able to create the environment both inside and outside the rocket to simulate space flight.
How did you bring your vision to life?
A combination of incredible actors pulling off the lip-synching and the hugely talented and dedicated graphics team at BDH. With painstaking attention to detail they mapped out the exact flight plan to make sure the visual elements of the mission were accurate at every point of the journey. The distance to the moon, the trajectory of approach, and the landing were all analysed to ensure what the audience sees is as it was for Aldrin, Collins and Armstrong. These graphics elements, combined with the immersive performances from my actors within the lifelike sets, made for the perfect combination.
What made you decide to use the actual cockpit audio recorded by the astronauts themselves?
It was never in doubt to use the actual recordings. It would have been far more straightforward transcribing the recordings and have our cast perform the words as recorded, but nothing can compare to hearing the real voices themselves. That’s what unique about the film. Hearing Aldrin, Collins and Armstrong in their own voices makes the viewing experience undeniably more engaging and provides a perspective on the story that hasn’t been seen before.
Why should people watch 8 Days: To The Moon And Back?
That’s why I hope people watch 8 Days: To The Moon And Back. It’s a familiar story told in an entirely unfamiliar and unique way. We all know the iconic moments of the mission, the famous quotes that will live forever in human history, but what most people haven’t heard is what was said in the lead up to and after these moments. It’s three men hurtling towards the moon in a tin can whilst the whole world watches on in awe. Hopefully this film re-engages our wonder at this amazing human achievement and the prospect of further space exploration.

Channel 4 marks Apollo 11 anniversary in moonumental style
July 16th marks the 50th anniversary of the launch of Apollo 11, the first mission to land men on the Moon. It was a monumental event, when the world came together to see if we could accomplish our greatest adventure ever. Channel 4 will air two documentaries with incredible news archive from around the world, as well as exclusive NASA footage to re-tell the extraordinary bravery, anticipation and achievement of this iconic moment.
The digital highlight of the multi-platform event will be a live stream of the Apollo 11 mission minute-by-minute, from the moment of blast off on July 16th until the astronauts leave the moon on July 21st. The mission will play out in real time, 24 hours a day on the Channel 4 YouTube channel. The broadcast will be made up of six days of NASA recorded audio communications between Mission Control and the spacecraft, footage and still images taken by the Apollo 11 crew, along with specially-created graphics and reconstruction where needed to tell an immersive story entirely from the crew’s point of view.
The documentaries and YouTube stream will be supported by further bespoke social media content, written in the imagined style of how mission control would have posted if they had Twitter and Instagram in 1969. The Channel 4 Instagram Story will be taken over for the five days between launch and landing complimented by real time Twitter commentary at key points throughout the mission. Capitalising on the mystery and excitement of the mission there will be ‘Moonbuster’ videos to explore some of the biggest conspiracies and theories about the moon mission, bringing to life this extraordinary feat for a new generation.
Additionally, 6 x short films will go out after Channel 4 News on the week of the mission, the Monday before Tuesday’s launch and then everyday leading up to the landing on Saturday, with a daily mission update from the astronauts and Mission Control.
