Key moments in his subject’s life are illustrated through a series of exquisitely orchestrated tableaux filled with rich colour and stunning iconography, each scene a celluloid painting alive with stylised movement.
One of cinema’s most revered and beautiful films, now presented in a stunning new restoration by Martin Scorsese’s The Film Foundation.

The Rise of Jennifer Lawrence
As popular off camera as she is on, Jennifer Lawrence is a rare kind of celebrity who's both idolised and relatable. Whilst the 27-year-old's films have grossed over $5.5 billion worldwide and she's got a mantelpiece brimming with awards, she's just as much loved for her cool wit and goofy charm. She deserves a Lifetime Achievement award for her epic Oscars tumble alone.
So, as you sit back and fantasise about her being your bestie, here's a reminder of how she got to where she is today…
Hunger Games
Although she'd already earned an Oscar nomination for her role in 2010's Winter's Bone, Jennifer Lawrence shot into the public eye quicker than one of Katniss' arrows when she took on the central role in the film adaptation of Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games book trilogy. And just like the heroic archer, she won the nation's heart.
Silver Linings Playbook
Sorry, Bradley Cooper, but Jennifer stole the show as quirky dance enthusiast Tiffany Maxwell in 2012's romantic comedy-drama Silver Linings Playbook - and she snagged an Oscar to prove it. No wonder director David O.Russell has since pulled her in for with her two more collaborations. As far as dance sequences go, this film offers the best.
American Hustle
Jennifer's supporting role in her second project with David O. Russell earned her a BAFTA win and cemented her position as one of the finest comedians of her generation. As Roselyn, the unstable but endearing wife of Christian Bale's con artist, she singlehandedly ensured that we can no longer reheat a ready-meal in the microwave without shouting 'science oven!'
Passengers
The dilemma faced by Chris Pratt's Jim Preston strikes a chord with us all… If you were woken 90 years early while travelling through space and had to decide between spending the rest of your days alone or in the company of Jennifer Lawrence, what would choose? It's a no brainer. Okay, so it's not as straightforward as that but we can't think of a better actor than Jennifer to portray Aurora.
X-Men
Jennifer might not be recognisable when she's covered in blue body paint for her role of shapeshifting Mystique in the X-Men franchise, but there's no doubt that she's awesome. She first appeared in the superhero series in 2011's X-Men: First class. X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse followed, with X-Men: Dark Phoenix lined-up for later this year. We can't wait.
mother!
What better way for Jennifer to showcase her incredible range and versatility than with her role in Darren Aronofsky's psychological horror? If you thought she went to some dark places as Katniss in Hunger Games, you haven't seen anything yet… In mother!, she stars alongside Javier Bardem, Ed Harris, and Michelle Pfeiffer in a story about a young woman whose peaceful life disrupted by the arrival of some uninvited guests. After pushing herself to her very limits and leaving us at the very edge of our seats, there's no doubt that Ms Lawrence is a true acting legend.
All I See Is You - New Clip and Poster
ALL I SEE IS YOU - Available on digital platforms from 26th February, and on DVD from 5th March, 2018
Blake Lively (The Shallows, The Age of Adaline, Gossip Girl) and Jason Clarke (Everest, Zero Dark Thirty) shine in a disturbing and obsessive love story that defies genre, when ALL I SEE IS YOU reaches digital platforms on 26th February and DVD from 5th March, 2018, courtesy of Signature Entertainment.
Gina (Lively) and husband James (Clarke) have an almost perfect marriage. After being blinded as a child in a nearly fatal car crash, Gina exclusively depends on James to feel and ‘see’ the world around her, and it appears only to solidify their extremely passionate relationship. She envisions the world in her own vivid imagination with help from James' descriptions. While the two enjoy a colourful existence living in Bangkok, their relationship is upended when Gina receives a corneal transplant and regains her sight. With her restored vision, Gina experiences the world with a new sense of wonder and independence which James finds threatening. It is only when Gina suddenly begins to lose her sight again that she finally realises the disturbing reality of their marriage...
Directed and written by Hollywood heavyweight Marc Forster (World War Z, Quantum of Solace), ALL I SEE IS YOU is a dark psychological thriller unlike any other, with a vital and career-defining performance by Blake Lively. Also starring Danny Huston (American Horror Story, Wonder Woman) ALL I SEE IS YOU is unique, unmissable and totally compelling viewing.

Interview with James Crow - Writer/Director of House of Salem
The Devil Has A New Playground. Don’t Breathe meets You’re Next in writer-director James Crow’s ‘’brooding and compelling horror with a crime thriller twist”* HOUSE OF SALEM, streaming on VOD 1/23/18 from Wild Eye Releasing.
A group of kidnappers become a child's unlikely protectors after discovering they have unwittingly been set up to take part in a satanic ritual. As they begin to uncover the truth of the house they find themselves trapped, they must battle demonic forces and uncover a legacy of over a hundred years of murder in the name of the Devil.
Jessica Arterton, Jack Brett Anderson and Liam Kelly star in “an excellent watch”** HOUSE OF SALEM, premiering on VOD this January from Wild Eye Releasing.
The film looks great, what do you film it on?
Thank you. We shot it on black magics in 4k in raw. A great name for a camera to film a horror film with.
Was it important to you that the film have as much substance as it did style?
I’m very inspired by visual directors like Alfred Hitchcock and Dario Argento, so style is a very big thing for me. It’s why I’m normally still quite hands on with the camera while also being Director, despite it driving producers mad. But I tried to give this film depth with characters too. I think it’s still a character piece alongside a horror.
One can only imagine that some of today’s newspaper headlines might have played muse to the script?
I don’t know whether the newspapers tend to have much influence on me. Art and music sometimes do, although maybe not so much with this film. Although I do like watching a lot of creepy youtube videos about unsolved mysteries, they may have had an effect.
Genre movies sometimes can end up being a bit silly, was it important to you that yours have some black humour about it?
I always like black humour, although no one has called House of Salem silly to me which is good. I think its a dark story and I think the characters are very conflicting and troubled.
The film has a really great score. How important is sound to you? Who composed it?
Pete Coleman who I worked with on Curse of the Witching Tree created again another amazing original score. He’s also scored my film Black Creek coming out next month too.
How much of the film comes together in the editing room? I imagine that’s when a lot of the scares start to work?
Yeah they and with the music too. This film was so long, so many scenes got cut. Thats the hardest thing. House of Salem uncut could have easily been over two hours.
VOD seems to be the main spot we’ll find the film. Do you prefer audiences see it this way at their own time, in their own space?
I do like VOD and I think it’s an important way forward but I love having my blu-rays with special features of my favourite films. Wildeye will be releasing a hard copy of House of Salem I think around March.
Do you believe VOD is the way of the future?
Yes I do. I think also streaming services, which is included in that. I do think there will always be a place for hard copies though, just like vinyl is making a return to music lovers. I think those who love and support their film makers like I do, will like having that collection with all the special features.
Do you recommend we eat or drink anything in particular while watching the film at home? What do you recommend?
Red wine like the client who runs of House of Salem most probably.
