QUO VADIS 2018: More visitors, happy guests

Berlin, 27th of April 2018 – Europe’s longest-standing developer conference, QUO VADIS, celebrated a special accomplishment this year: the number of visitors rose by a total of 16 percent compared to last year, setting a new all-time record for the number of attendees. Within the indie area and the business area, numerous visitors met and talked in a relaxed atmosphere. The packed program, with approximately 70 talks, panels and workshops, received very positive feedback. This was announced by the organizer CMG Conferences, the event branch of CMG Media Group.

The conference hosted several legends of the gaming industry, among them Tameem Antoniades (Ninja Theory), Kate Edwards (Geogrify), Dan Hay (Ubisoft Montréal) and Richard Garriott (Portalarium). Tameem Antoniades’ (Hellblade And The Pursuit Of Creative Independence) and Dan Hay’s (The World Building Of Far Cry 5) inspiring keynotes were especially popular.

The most important topic of QUO VADIS 2018 was innovation, and numerous talents exhibited their games in the indie area. The QUO VADIS indie awards were a special highlight. Three aspiring projects received an award. At the audience award, ViSP – Virtual Space Port and No Pen, No Paper made the second and third place. FAR: Lone Sails not only made the first place but also won the jury award.

“We took a big step forward with QUO VADIS 2018,“ commented Simon Fistrich, Head of Conference of the company located in Fürth. “Thanks to MeetToMatch, many interesting conversations took place in our business area. We received positive feedback from all sides and we are already looking forward to next year. We want to thank all our guests, speakers, developers as well as our sponsors such as LeaseWeb, CRYENGINE and of course the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg for their great support.”

Among visitors and speakers, the feedback to this year’s edition was also throughout positive. “I really enjoy QUO VADIS,“ said highlight speaker Tameem Antoniades. “It’s very intimate – the kind of conference where you can hold a talk and then just chat with people afterwards – and it just feels very easy to talk about the challenges that people face.”

QUO VADIS is the core of gamesweekberlin, which takes place from 23rd of April to 29th of April. Along with other high quality events such as A MAZE.Womenize or Unreal Fest Europe, it presents one of the leading cross-industry communication- and networking platforms in the European gaming industry.
