SKATE KITCHEN opens in cinemas nationwide on 28 September 2018

SKATE KITCHEN, directed by Crystal Moselle, will be released in the UK on 28 September following its upcoming UK premiere at Sundance Film Festival: London on 2 June. Its World premiere was at Sundance Film Festival Utah in January.

This is the narrative debut for Crystal Moselle following her Sundance-winning documentary, The Wolfpack (2015). The film stars the members of a real-life all-girl skate crew based in New York, who caught Crystal Moselle's attention on social media and inspired the film. Rachelle Vinberg is the lead as Camille, along with fellow newcomers from the crew: Kabrina Adams, Nina Moran, Ardelia Lovelace, Jules Lorenzo and Brenn Lorenzo.   Established names rounding out the cast are Jaden Smith (The Pursuit of Happyness, The Karate Kid) and Elizabeth Rodriguez (Orange is The New Black).

Introverted 18-year-old skateboarder Camille lives on Long Island with her mother. Though, to her mother's relief, Camille promises to hang up her board following an injury, the pull to skate proves too strong. She discovers an all-girl subculture of skaters called The Skate Kitchen on Instagram, and she sets out into the city to join them. The rebellious and sexually fluid girls quickly adopt the more naive Camille, featuring her in their stunt videos. For the first time, she feels acceptance and support from other girls. However, she soon learns to her cost, the complexity of their friendship when she befriends a boy from a rival group of skaters.
