Workout The Wright Way: Mark Wright fronts BBC’s new fitness show for 11-16’s

The new series, has been commissioned as part of the BBC's huge educational offering, Lockdown Learning and will see Mark lead a daily dose of energising fitness sessions to encourage teens to stay active as they are home schooling. Designed for all abilities, the series, which starts Monday 1st February and will continue over the coming weeks, will help to improve co-ordination and flexibility, raise heart rates and build core strength.

Each 15 minute episode will have a different theme each day. Monday will start the week off with an intense muscle workout, Tuesday will look at building strength using objects easy to find in the home. Wednesday will see Mark getting the teens hearts pumping with some cardio and Thursday will be flexibility. Rounding off the week, Friday's episode will bring all the exercises together for a fun and energetic 15 minute workout.

As the teens grow in confidence and fitness ability, as the weeks progress Mark will gradually increase the intensity and mix and match the types of exercise. By doing so, he'll use different muscles, styles and a variety of techniques to get teens having fun while keeping in shape.

Motivating the 11-16's alongside Mark will be some celebrity guests who will appear later in the series to spur the teens on and get them moving.

Mark Wright says: "I am so excited to be part of BBC Lockdown Learning and encourage teens to stay active during lockdown. The workouts I have created will energise them before a day of home-schooling and can even be done on their lunch break or in the afternoon as an extra boost."

Teenagers can tune into Workout The Wright Way every week day at 8:45am on BBC Two, Bitesize online or BBC iPlayer to kickstart their day with a workout. Each episode will then be available on BBC iPlayer to revisit so students can access as and when suits them.
